The Different Career Paths in Tech

The Different Career Paths in Tech

In one of my previous blogs, I shared three lessons to guide you when designing your Tech career roadmap. In this article I will be discussing some Tech career paths that you can choose from as you begin your Tech journey.

  • Technical Writing

Technical writing is the act of conveying technical information through writing. It involves the breaking down of complex technical subjects and procedures in a way different audiences from various technical background can fathom. This career path is not limited to writing only as images and videos can are also used to explain technical processes.

  • Backend Development

This is my learning track in the ADA Software Engineering Internship Programme. As the name entails, backend development is the creation and maintenance of the 'back' of a website or web application. This tech path is called backend because all the work is done behind the scenes and is not visible to the user. It is the logic and brain of the software.

  • Frontend Development

This tech path is the complete opposite of the backend development. It is the design and maintenance of the user side of a website or web application. The frontend is the part of the software that is visible to the user.

  • UI/UX Design

UI is an acronym for User Interface while UX refers User Experience. This words are Often used interchangeably but there meanings are not the same. UI focuses on the look of the application while UX focuses on the functionality of the website or web application.

I hope this article gives you clarity as you begin your tech career.
